Speech and language therapy provides intervention focusing on improving child’s speech and abilities to express language, verbal or non-verbal.
A speech therapist also termed as speech – language pathologist (SLP), helps treat problems related to speech, hearing and swallowing. A SLP will aid your child and help him develop his fluency, speech, language (includes comprehension of spoken and written language), cognition, voice, auditor habilitation & Rehabilitation using variety of speech techniques. Disorders related to swallowing, accent, dialect modification and voice hygiene are also resolved with due consultation.
Children/Adults who have muscle weakness in jaw, lips or tongue; stressing of certain syllables and use of pitch and pauses is not appropriate at certain places in a sentence; problems related to improper usage of sound combinations are also helped to better understand auditory feedback and one-on-one sessions are intensively conducted several times.
